The world's first smartphone turns 20

The IBM smartphone 'Simon' came on the market in 1994. The weight was half a kilogram, and the price tag (899 dollar) was astronomical compared to the features. IBM sold about 50.000 units of this model in the US.

Today IBM does not manufacture any smartphones, but tell that they still earn a lot of money on many of the components inside todays phones.
